Grid-A-Licious

Modular web pages is so hot right now… I remember designing for the brand section of thenorthface.com, we were testing out the waters for a modular approach to organizing information. It proved to be a good idea and now we can have our blog be modular too via Grid-a-licious? —uh..ed?

So why is the trend leaning back toward a newspaper design (granted now on steroids)? With all the new ways to organize your own information, why not? Its good to be square. Your comments or explanations appreciated.
