That's a nifty app you have there. I totally have no clue how you managed to mosh the DIGG and GoogleMaps API together. Good job. Just an observation, I noticed that the header/digg title vanishes between updates causing everything below it to shift up and down. It gets a little dizzying after a while, what I would do is to turn the header into a block element so that it doesn't collapse (im not sure if it'll work though).

I really like this, its a very slick animation / visualisation.

My only slight criticism is that the text on the small stories is a bit too small. But other than that, very nice and well done!

I have also been playing with the API and have come up with a world map that updates in real-time as stories are dugg with their diggers' location.
