Back from the Dead

Really just back from a month long vacation from PH. Got lots of things to do, but I’ll have to dive right into our thesis. Being away and not thinking of any of your life-changing projects for a while gives you a different/fresh perspective once you pick them up again. I choose to look at this as a good thing. I think I scared the hell out of Cat when I asked what our project was about. It’s not that I forget the entire idea, but maybe the thing has morphed in my subconscious as most things do after a few days. And with a mind

The what of our thesis is a website for young designers to post their portfolios. Sounds simple enough. The thing that bugs me is how to differentiate it from something like DeviantArt or Coroflot. We can argue that it will look and behave differently, but what makes it unique? I don’t want to make “built using Flash as a scapegoat”. I strongly believe it has to have a spin on it at its core, its purpose.

UPDATE: I wrote this three weeks ago and forgot to post it.
