Books I’ve been reading
Here are some recommends that I’ve read over the summer:
Don’t Make Me Think: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability by Steve Krug
and…
Information Architechture for the World Wide Web 2nd edition by Louis Rosenfeld & Peter Morville.
I picked these puppies up in lieu of gaining some helpfull insights to designing a large scale website. So far so good. The former is a must read and it only took me a couple of hours to complete. It’s quite pricy but is worth the knowledge. The latter has some great sections on how to structure a search and taxonomy.
I feel that I learned more in reading than taking actual classes. I’ll bring these babies back to SF in case anyone wants to borrow it.
Oh, there is one more that is cheap and good:
Emotional Design: Why We Love (or Hate) Everyday Thing by Donald A. Norman
